Douglas Dare joins Consequences

We’ve been keeping this under wraps, but we can finally share it: Douglas Dare is joining the team as the composer for Consequences!

If you haven’t heard Douglas’s music before, you’re in for something special. His sound is haunting, poetic, deeply connected to place. And this isn’t just any collaboration—Douglas is Dorset through and through. He grew up in Bridport, went to Beaminster School (where PJ Harvey also studied), and knows these landscapes in his bones.

British singer-songwriter Douglas Dare is a distinctive voice in modern music, celebrated for his soul-stirring vocals, poetic lyricism, and masterful piano compositions. Signed to the prestigious Erased Tapes Records, Dare has carved out a unique space in contemporary music, earning widespread acclaim and a dedicated international following.

His latest album, Omni, was named 'Album of the Day' on BBC Radio 6 Music, with lead singles championed by Lauren Laverne, Mary Anne Hobbs, and Tom Ravenscroft, as well as guest curators like Cillian Murphy. Dare has made numerous appearances on BBC Radio, including live sessions and interviews with Laverne, further solidifying his presence in the UK’s vibrant alternative music scene.

An electrifying live performer, Dare has toured extensively, sharing stages with Nils Frahm, Ólafur Arnalds, Perfume Genius, Moses Sumney, Rufus Wainwright, Anna Calvi, Rival Consoles, Wild Beasts, José González, Patrick Wolf, and Fink. He recently completed a 35-date UK and European tour, culminating in a sold-out headline show at London’s Omeara, and a joint headline tour across Austria with Björk’s collaborator and drummer, Manu Delago.

His singular artistry has led to invitations to perform at Robert Smith’s Meltdown Festival and David Lynch’s Festival at HOME Manchester. He was also personally selected to contribute a Leonard Cohen cover for Cohen’s global retrospective exhibition, debuting in Montreal with the support of the International Showcase Fund.

Most recently, Dare performed alongside the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, with the concert broadcast on BBC Radio 3, further cementing his status as a boundary-pushing artist. As Mary Anne Hobbs described after one of his live performances, it was "a truly heartstopping set."
