Reclaiming our land
with a giant game of Consequences
Consequences is a game like no other – a giant, collaborative piece of art that invites people to reconnect with the land.
Inspired by the surrealist game of Consequences, this project is all about spontaneous creativity, inviting everyone to add their unique touch to a massive work of art. Our goal is to create a giant, collaborative creature that symbolises our connection to Dorset’s wild landscapes, unveiling it next to the famous Cerne Abbas Giant in Autumn 2025.
But here’s the twist: no one will see the full creation until the final unveiling! It’s a project about collaboration and celebrating each piece that people bring to the whole. Expect workshops, community walks, and creative gatherings as part of this journey. From nature-inspired art sessions to rituals that explore myths and the environment, Consequences is about discovering how we all belong to the land—and how the land belongs to all of us. Stay tuned; the game has just begun!
Consequences has been commissioned by the Dorset National Landscape as part of Nature Calling, a project of the National Landscapes Association, in partnership with Activate and supported by Poetry School. Funded by Arts Council England, Defra, and the Dorset National Landscape.
“Access to land is important and I am fortunate to be able to access green spaces, but 92% of the countryside and 97% of rivers in England are not publicly accessible. When you add race and class into that mix, so many people are excluded from the simple pleasure of roaming freely. “
